Mendel
Meyers - Founder/Creative director
Owner and photographer Mendel Meyers grew up in Amsterdam, Holland,
in an atmosphere steeped in the artistic tradition of Rembrandt,
Vermeer and Van Gogh. Counted among the many talented members of
his immediate family are painters, designers, photographers, and
writers. It comes as no surprise, therefore, that Mr. Meyers chose
an artistic endeavor as his life's work. Moreover, his avid interest
in people and the excitement of sharing the most important moments
in their lives makes event photography the perfect outlet for his
creative abilities.
Mendel says: "Growing up in a creative family had a profound
effect on me. From the time I was a teenager I knew that I wanted
to express myself trough the medium of photography. I feel that
my photographic style is the result of a unique combination of European
and American influences."
David
Ticktin - Photographic artist
Photographer David Ticktin, formerly of Aura Studios, brings a wealth
of talent and experience to Mendel Meyers studios. David started
taking pictures as a child, and by age 13 was already a serious
photographer. Although his original training (including a stint
at the Rochester Institute of Technology) was as a commercial photographer,
David loves people, and loves capturing the most special moments
in their lives. In more than thirty years as a working photographer,
he has photographed over 3000 events in New York and dozens of other
cities in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
David says: "I put a lot of effort into my photography. I try
to combine sensitivity and respect for the subject with modern,
creative graphic elements, without abandoning old fashioned values
like technical excellence. It's critically important to me to be
able to trust the studio I work with to carry my vision through
to the finished product. I trust Mendel Meyers."
